Dando permissão de execução no arquivo da ati

chmod +x ati-driver-installer-8.40.4-x86.x86_64.run

Criando os pacotes .deb do driver da Ati

ln -sf bash /bin/sh && ./ati-driver-installer-8.40.4-x86.x86_64.run –buildpkg Ubuntu/gutsy && ln -sf /bin/bash /bin/sh
Instale

dpkg -i xorg-driver-fglrx_8.40.4_amd64.deb
dpkg -i fglrx-kernel-source_8.40.4_amd64.deb
dpkg -i fglrx-amdcccle_8.40.4_amd64.deb
dpkg -i xorg-driver-fglrx-dev_8.40.4_amd64.deb
Entre

cd /usr/src

e execute os comandos:
m-a update
m-a prepare
m-a build fglrx
m-a install fglrx

aticonfig –initial

Pronto sua ATI está configurada e pronta pra rodar o compiz.
